CD 4050 Digital Document
Recorder Features
- The most valuable technology is technology that values time
Deadlines don't wait-neither should you. Canon's multipurpose CD-4050 scans as many as 39
letter-sized originals per minute. And automatically scans two-sided originals with a
single pass, essentially doubling productivity. With Text Mode and Photo Mode, plus
255-step Brightness Control, the CD-4050 provides the best quality output for text,
halftones and continuous-tone input. The convenient 100-sheet Feeder Tray allows you to
scan documents of varying sizes, business card to legal. That's because the CD-4050
automatically determines,--and adjusts to-the size and thickness of the document, all of
which does wonders for your workflow.
- More than a touch easier to use
All the tools and procedures an operator needs-from scanning to indexing-are accessed
through the 6.5-inch color touch-screen. A single, integrated interface that's simple to
use, it allows scanned documents to be retrieved and viewed, page by page. You can rotate,
reduce or enlarge on-screen images, and scroll with incredible ease. Even rename items or
make copies, for enhanced document-management flexibility.
- Smart Filing™
Several auto-indexing functions streamline the document-management process. Setting the
CD-4050 to read bar codes or MICR information assigns such information to a searchable
data field. Selective OCR eliminates the need for manual data entry and can transform the
first page of an image document into a searchable text or HTML files.
- CD-Recordable
Simply remarkable. Documents scanned with the CD-4050 are converted into mutipage TIFF
image files for recording to CD-Rs-a standard, low-cost, reliable archiving medium. A
Windows®95/98- and Windows NT-based filing structure means CD images may be retrieved and
viewed on the CD-ROM drive of virtually any PC, using Imaging for Windows® software. A
powerful, intuitive storage facility the CD-4050 organizes documents into Cabinets and
Folders, allowing each document up to three user-defined data fields.
- Desktop-to-network convenience.
Connected via Ethernet to your office network, the CD-4050 does double duty as a
high-speed network scanner, enabling on-line users to retrieve, view, and print documents
from the shared network folder. What's more, the operator has the ability to distribute
newly scanned or CD-stored documents via E-mail.
- Canon Endorser ED-500
The optional ED- 500 Endorser imprints serial numbers, stamps and dates onto checks,
share-drafts, and letter-sized documents. For added flexibility, the imprint position is
operator-adjustable and conforms to Federal Reserve Bank regulations for check
endorsement.
- Multiple Interface Ports
In addition to the touch-panel display, there are ports on the side of the unit for an
external monitor, mouse, or keyboard.
- CD-4050N
(for forms printed on NCR paper) The CD-4050N has the ability to scan documents
printed on non-carbon, pressure sensitive paper, such as vouchers and order forms. It
includes special silicon rollers that ensure careful feeding of these documents, plus a
lock lever to use when scanning stacks.
